   Claude Monet Autograph Letter Signed with Compelling WWI Content. This scarce Claude Monet handwritten and signed letter is dated June 24, 1918. It was sent in reply to Julie Manet (daughter of painter Berthe Morisot and Edouard Manet's brother Eugene). Julie had asked Claude Monet's advice on safeguarding her personal art collection should Paris come under attack by the Germans. The letter was written shortly before the WWI battle of the Marne, in which the Germans advanced to within forty miles of Paris.
