An original signed and inscribed letter from Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, consort of the current Queen Elizabeth II, to a founder and previous Director of the National Maritime Trust, Frank George Griffith Carr. The letter has a personally written greeting and signature from the Prince on embossed, Windsor Castle notepaper with embossed crest - likely typed by Philip himself as was his habit. Philip became official patron of the Maritime Trust in 1969 and thus his relationship with Frank began in earnest.

This letter is from a collection of 20 or so which I acquired from the estate of Frank Carr. He sought and received help wherever he could for what will be a wonderful legacy for us and the world - including the Duke of Edinburgh. Size: 21cms x 14.3cms.
