Louis Daguerre autograph letter signed, dated 6 November 1826 shortly before his years-long process of inventing the daguerreotype, which he finalized in 1839. Daguerre writes in French to the theatre director and playwright Rene-Charles Guilbert de Pixerecourt, who at the time was director of the Theatre royal l'Opera-Comique. In addition to inventing the daguerreotype, Daguerre also invented the theater diorama, and here writes upon stationery from the Maison du Diorama. Boldly signed''Daguerre'' at the conclusion.

Letter measures 5'' x 7.75'' with integral address leaf, framed with an engraving of Daguerre to a size of 15.75'' x 13.25''. Shallow folds, overall in near fine condition.
