In this two-page missive, Theodore Roosevelt acknowledges a note from General [James Grant] Wilson and states: "I did not come to 689 until last evening". He wants Wilson to arrange a visit, since had I a moment's spare time I would call on you myself. This letter probably dates from the period Roosevelt was NYC Police Commissioner (1895-97), since it was during that period that he and Edith lived at Bamie's house at 689 Madison Ave, New York. The letter, all in Theodore Roosevelt's hand, is written on 7" x 4 1/2" stationery imprinted with that address. Condition: One small spot in the upper left blank margin of page one, mounting residue and offsetting from a printed document on blank verso of second page. A note about packing: Check our feedback. We take pride in our excellent packing. We double-box all fragile items to insure their safe journey through the postal system.
